Mounjaro (Tirzepatide Injection)

Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which acts on two hormone receptors (GIP and GLP-1) to help regulate appetite and blood sugar. It is used alongside diet and exercise for weight management, and separately for glycaemic control in type 2 diabetes.

Considered for

  • Adults with obesity, or overweight with a related condition (e.g. high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol/lipid levels, sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease)
  • Adults with type 2 diabetes requiring improved blood sugar control

*Mounjaro is prescription-only and must be used under a doctor’s supervision.

 

*Safety & suitability*

Not suitable for everyone. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation, usually mild and most noticeable when starting treatment.
